The Eradicating Child Sexual Abuse (ECSA) Project
We're running a major project to develop an international child sexual abuse prevention toolkit that can be used by a nation, area or region to develop a considered and credible strategy for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
The toolkit is available online and is called The Eradicating Child Sexual Abuse (ECSA) Project.
The toolkit aims to guide users through the process of creating a child sexual abuse prevention strategy and build a plan to prevent child sexual abuse based on their understanding of the place they are in and the particular problems children face.
It includes guidance on understanding child sexual abuse and the process of thinking about child sexual abuse in their communities. Based on that understanding and an understanding of how abusers operate, it helps users consider what is known about prevention and helps them decide, with others, what a good plan for prevention might look like. It includes prevention strategy templates and examples.
The biggest part of the toolkit is made up of example programmes and interventions from around the world, some 180 example interventions, which users can browse.
